AMANDA GODDEN
Artist Bio
Amanda returned to her native Cumbria approximately a decade ago and now lives in Gleaston just outside Ulverston.
On completing her Foundation Art Course in Carlisle Amanda continued her studies by graduating from Cleveland College of Art and Design; in the North East with a HND Distinction in Textiles and Surface Pattern.
Living in London and later the Midlands presented Amanda with many creative opportunities including running a stall on Camden market and establishing the first Art Gallery on the Fulham Rd. to have an Open Door Policy - Nomad Art Gallery proved extremely popular; welcoming in London’s general public and running a prospectus of popular Adult education courses.
After a career that has so far included teaching, running a Gallery, writing the style column in a local newspaper and working as an Interior designer Amanda returned to Cumbria and, overcome by the beauty of her home county she interprets some of her favourite views from around Cumbria using her love of colour and a fresh contemporary take on some well loved vistas.
