I am a published Illustrator with a professional background in Graphic Design from Lytham St. Annes in Lancashire. Studied Art and Design at Blackpool & the Fylde College, and have a BA (Hons) in Visual Art from Lancaster University (2001).

I have a keen interest in all the arts, however, most notably, movies and old school movie poster one sheets, are from where I draw most of my inspiration. I specialise in portraiture, working both traditionally and digitally. I am continually exploring use of colour, light, composition, where I tend to focus on detail and accuracy.

My natural figurative inclination towards the realism is prevalent in all of my work. However, I feel the process of creating the illusion of three dimensional space, using line and colour to create form, is in a sense abstract in this approach. It is our visual perception of these tenets do we derive realism when standing back to look at the finished painting.

Beyond formal aspects of my work, my intent as a portrait artist is always to imbue my subjects with humanity and capture their true essence of character; constantly striving to improve and push my skills with each painting.
